Winters can be chilly with temperatures going below 5°C at times. The climate in the northern part ofUttarakhand is typically Himalayan. Warm temperate conditions prevail in the Middle Himalayan valleys, with summer temperatures usually hovering about the mark of 25° C (about 77° F) and cooler winters.

Woollen items. Uttarakhand is also famous for producing the best quality wool in India. Wool and its products are majorly used during winters. Some of the woollen items include the beautifully hand knit and machine made sweaters, mittens,mufflers, ponchos, shawls, caps, leg warmers etc.
